Pseudicius tripunctatus Proszynski, 1989 syn. Pseudicius "braunsi": Wesolowska, van Harten 2007
No. 0000 Yemen
3. type specimen of P. tripunctatus by Proszynski 1989
1. female P. "braunsi" = tripunctatus from Yemen - by Wesolowska, van Harten 2007
Female of P. tripunctatus occurs together with male P. "braunsi" from Yemen, but that does not seem to be conspecific with P. braunsi from S Africa (note abdominal pattern differences) 1. from Yemen - by Wesolowska, van Harten 2007 <==> 4. type of P. braunsii by Peckham, Peckham 1903
2. type specimen type of P. branusii from S Africa - by Proszynski 1987: 52
Comment by Wesolowska, van Harten 2007: 60
Opinion by J. Prószynski. Matching male and female is a progress. Question remains whether males of P. braunsi from S Africa and Yemen are conspecific. They seem to differ by abdominal patern, and although palpal organs are similar (to several species, but not identical) the doubts remain. Drawings of P. arabicus are drawn in position which makes comparison impossible (Prószynski 2003a: 156).
